Any good ideas for a fundraising supper?

We have a meal every Tuesday night at our Eagles... proceeds go to the kids party fund or the women's auxiliary. We sometimes have burgers and hot dogs, bbq on a bun, soup, chili, spaghetti...etc. Trying to think of something different, yet easy and not too expensive. Any ideas?

  1. Stir Fry always goes well

  2. I would say natchos with all the toppings or tacos with all the toppings.  Since, you can put everything in a crock pot (brown the meat first in oven).  I dont think that would be that expensive.   Good Luck

  3. Call it a nacho salad supper.Chips, ground meat, beans, and all sort of salad fixings. It is easy and cheap. That way you can ask different ones to donate.Just make sure everyone brings something different.Salad goes a long ways...

  4. How about a baked potato buffet?  You could provide all kinds of toppings - cheese, broccoli, bacon bits, etc.

Or breakfast for dinner?  Pancakes, home made waffles, fruit, sausage.

Or a chili cook off. Have members bring in crock pots full of their best recipe and folks can vote for their favorite chili - - with pennies. Proceeds go to the kids party fund, etc.

    How about sub sandwiches?

    Hope these ideas help!

  5. I just tried a bacon-wrapped chicken gorgonzola recipe that was surprisingly easy, and when paired with a simple greens salad and bread it was fairly inexpensive.  If you don't like gorgonzola you can experiment and make a spinach ricotta filling to make it a bacon-wrapped florentine chicken.

Other inexpensive and easy ideas, Chicken Parmigiana is another one.  Just take boneless chicken breast, dredge in an egg/olive oil mixture then batter with seasoned bread crumbs.  Bake and top with marinara sauce and cheese.  Serve alongside spaghetti and salad.

I've also tried a Chicken and Sausage Cassoulet recipe and Beef Goulash with egg noodles.  Both were easy to prepare and very tasty as well as inexpensive.

  6. You could have dishes of ground beef, tomatoes, cheese, onions, olives, sour cream, avocado, salsas and let people make their own tacos ......  or have flour tortillas and add a few more ingredients and they could make their own burritos (like at Chipolte's restaurant)  ......   When it gets warmer, you could have a giant salad bar, including chicken salad, ham salad, egg salad, along with the makings for green salads....

  7. Sloppy joes, salad.
