  1. Try building it around a theme. Gear the activities, food, etc. around that theme.

Some possibilities, and understand I am making these up late at night, so forgive any goofiness!

PIRATE PATROLS. As the Scouts arrive, divide them into 2 or 3 'ships'. Each ship needs a name, a flag, a captain, a first mate, etc. Set up the tables to match the ships.

Everything they do now, they do as a ship. Oh, and they need a costume element (hat, eye patch, fake parrot, bandana, something... I think I would give each ship a pile of cheap bandanas in different colors) AND they need to talk like pirates. (It will start off dorky, but I bet they have fun with it after a few minutes!)

Get a bunch of pirate-themed activities and give out gold coins (chocolate coins?) for prizes.

Sword fights (swimming noodles, or cheap foam pipe insulation tubes), pirate-themed food like ice cream without utensils (Pirates with spoons??),  jugs of 'ale' (root beer), shish-kabob,..

Other ideas later when I can think! :-)

  2. Take a camping trip? Very scouty
