Any good ideas for decorating a door at cheer camp?

my squad is going to cheer camp next week and we are having a contest to see who can decorate their dorm door the best. we need something really creative, spirtited and bright. by the way our school colors are blue and gold and our mascot is a cougar(: any suggestions?

You can get wrapping paper in gold and blue.  I would also get a picture of a cougar, in a magazine, cut it out and take it to a copy place and have them make it larger. Just his face though.  Try to find one where it's just his face and he's looking right at you.

Then, when you go to decorate the door, you can cover the door in blue wrapping paper first and take the big picture of the cougar, I'd make it at least 14x14 and tape the picture right to the center of the door!  

If you can, find some gold paper and cut it in strips to make it look like pompoms, and then gather them to make it look like one big pompom and have them around the door in clusters.  Maybe do one in each corner, so each of the four corners of the door has a pompom.  Make them bulky enough when you put them together that they would look like them.  

You can also cut out pictures of megaphones, etc.

If you go to the crafts store, like Michael's and AC Moore, there's a sticker like called Jolee's Boutique and they have 3D stickers and they have cheerleading ones, they are adorable and they're made out of real materials, like the cheerleading outfits are REAL outfits, but they are stickers!  They have words, pompoms, etc.  You can go there and check out the stickers.  The company is EK Success and the line is Jolee's Boutique, you'll love what they have!

There's other things you can do too, think outside the box, you can use ribbon, felt, the pompom balls,  Use different types of materials, I'm not sure if they do have rules on what you can and can't use.  I would make sure to back the door with either blue or gold wrapping paper though being that's your school colors and take it from there.

I would also make sure to have a cougar on there.  I would do a picture of the cougar's face and make it large so it's right on the center of the door, but that's up to you and the other girls how you want to do it.

From there, you can decide what you want to include, if it's pompoms, megaphones, sneakers, outfits, etc.  Do you want to have everyone's names, etc.  Decide what you want to have on their first.  You can get gold paint pens, gold glitter, you can get gold paint and paint things to match your colors, etc.  

I would talk to the girls that are going to be in your dorm and see if they have any ideas about what they'd like to do.  Maybe some are making plans already?   I would definitely talk to them or hold a group meeting before even going to the crafts store shopping and see what ideas everyone can come up with, this when when you do go shopping, you know what you'd like to buy.

Can you do ribbon?  Bows?  Etc.
