Any good ideas for my 13 year old son's sleepover birthday party/?

This next weekend 8 boys are coming to spend the night to celebrate my son turning 13. We have a Wii that they can play, but I really wanted to do something special since he is becoming a teenager. I thought about either a mystery game or scavenger hunt, but most of the kids coming are 12-13 so something not so childish.

  1. i had a dance party at a rented dance hall with all the kids that i liked in my grade (that were my friends) it was so much fun and theyre was a DJ and a dance floor

  2. How about asking him what he wants and try compromising, at 13 he's pretty much a teenager and should be entering that phase where he craves independence. Also don't try to mother him too much in front of the other kids...

  3. 13 year old boys are mainly into video games, food and movies, they may enjoy a treasure hunt, but it depends on hard you make it! Most of the time they aren't going to want to hang out with parents!

  4. Boys that age, typically, don't want structured activity- and also, with the WII, are not big on sharing.

If the treasure hunt offers enough challenge and reward, they will love it.

  5. how about a camp out.  my children are small yet but I imagine that maybe they'd like that...?

  6. well im 15 it would be cool if ya had a x-box 360 AND played X-BOX LIVE thats cool

  7. I'm 13, and guys my age LOVE paintball...

    but just a suggestion:

    No scavenger hunt... :S

  8. wow 9 boys - you are brave!

i have an eleven year old brother and he would love a party like that.

Get them a really special 'midnight' feast. You could do fondue chocolate / toast marshmallows over an open fire, as this would take time and is fun and yummy as well!

it depends on how mature your son and the other boys are as to whether they would like the games you organise. Some might laugh in your face, but others might enjoy it. I think you should ask your son what he would like to do and get some ideas. I guess this will be his last kiddy sleepover as when he's 14 he'll probably be wanting something more grownup.

    Sounds fun so far though!

  9. LOL! Ok heres what you should do, give em a couple of guns. and they'll be quiet after they figure out how to turn the safety button off.
