  1. playing in jelly

    playing in gloop

    playing with different texture materials

    playing with different rattles

    looking at picture books

    singing nursery rhymes

    painting with their hands

    body painting

thats all i can think of but i hope this helps

  2. I would say the less structured the better-children under 1 need to explore and adults need to observe to see HOW the child learns: eg: are they an observer, do they touch, smell, try toys eg: do they throw toys first, do they try to roll them first etc...then you can plan for the children's needs/abilities rather than fitting child to an activity.

However things that can be called structure but with an aim can be found on...

www.surestart.gov.uk (i think) and look for Birth To Three: The compentent cards have lots of info!

  3. color

  4. Mat time- tummy play.

    Water play

    meal time

    singing songs

I'm not sure if you can really do structured group activities with children this young if there are only a few adults though.

  5. sorry but at that age there really isn't much structure

    ONE-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN

Roll a ball to them to catch.

Provide blocks for them to build with.

Provide safe mirrors for them to look at themselves in. Talk with them about their reflections in the mirror.

Let them fill containers over and over again.

Have them listen and move to music.

    Play hide and seek.

Let them push or pull a favorite toy.

    Provide wheeled toys without pedals.

Look at picture books with them and talk about the pictures.

Talk about the size, shape, and texture of everyday objects.

Make comparisons such as "this ball is bigger than that ball."

Talk about cause-and-effect relationships such as "if you push this block, the whole pile of blocks will fall over."
