  1. Cut out two cardboard rectangles of the same size.

Take one and use an exacto knife to cut out the size window you'd like the picture to show through.

Then Glue the photo in between both peices.

You can also make a sortof triangular shaped stand for it.

Or try using a CD case- Someone on here gave me the tip a while ago.

You pull out the part where the back paper usually is, the one that generally has all the song titles on it, and stick the picture in there, then put the part that actually holds the CD back in. Then you just open it up and stand it.

You can do with a DVD case  or VHS case also just take the old paper out, replace it with a picture or pictrues and just stand it up.

  2. You can also make them entirely of polymer clay, or just "cover" or embellish existing frames with patterns or shaped bits of polymer clay.  These can be made to look just about any way you want too.

If you're interested in seeing some of the ones clayers have made and getting some lessons, check out this page at my site:

(check out all the first half of the page, even mirrors and "small" frames, since they can use similar techniques and decorations)

And these pages have more on how to "cover" or just onlay bits of clay onto clay or onto other surfaces:

    (the category called "Dimensional" onlays)

  3. Another interesting couple of "frames" we made are:

Used photo adhesive to glue the photo to Masonite that's been painted black.  THEN glued that piece of Masonite to a small wooden block that was in turn glued to a "distressed" cedar shingle.  We'd re-roofed our home and had a TON of shingles.

We also used distressed fence-boards to build up "standard" box-frames, backed them with Masonite, and again glued in a photo mounted on Masonite.

We were taught YOUNG to reuse as many materials as possible.
