  1. There are some pretty standard things like bake sales, car washes, pizza coupon and doughnut sales.  If the need is for a couple of hundred dollars or less these may be all you need.   If you need a bit more consider a talent show or "rent-a-student" weekend where club members rent themselves out to work at local businesses or for individuals.  Be absolutely sure that any individuals to whom you rent yourselves are people you know like families and friends of participants so no one ends up in a dangerous situation.

You need to publicize the services that you do and how they benefit your communbity.  Talk to the local paper and radio and TV stations as well as putting up flyers or a newsletter at school.  That way people know what they are being asked to support.

Contributions from club members are good too but at the high school level these may be limited and it may be important that there not be a financial pressure in orger to participate especially if some members come from families who have many expenses and not a lot of extra money.  Members main contribution of course would be the community services they do.

  2. run a bottle and can drive.

  3. What about online fundraising?

Take a look at GiveStream. It offers a set of free and easy-to-use online fundraising and community-building tools that help nonprofits create their own branded easy giving center.

The concept is simple, your club will earn money while its followers conduct their everyday shopping and searching activities online.

  4. Ask for grants and sponsorship from local businesses. Many of them will be more than willing to help your cause.

  5. First and foremost, the members need to be contributing financially. You can't ask people to give money to a cause its members aren't also giving.

You haven't said why you need money. You need to write up a budget that shows exactly WHY you need money. Will it pay for gas for service members to drive to service activities? Will it pay for t-shirts? Be detailed in this document.

And what does your club *do*? What difference does it really make? Why should those who aren't in our club want to see it continue?

Only when you have all this information can you approach local businesses about contributing to your cause.
