Im organizing an event International Food & Culture at university. It's more like an outdoor afternoon tea with diverse international food.

I've thought too much about food aspect, but for culture aspect - any good ideas? How about ask the participants tell some stories about their native food and culture during eating? but sounds not that interesting...

So anyone can give some advice what kind of activities / games I can use for "culture" aspect in this event to make it more interesting, instead of lots of people just standing there, chatting and eatting..

  1. You could ask some to dress in culturally significant attire.

  2. You should set up little sections for each country.

Like for the Japanese section, set up a rug on the floor make it mandatory to take off shoes and have a bunch of pillows around.

Have one person stay at each section that know what makes it different than the typical American dinning.

If possible you can get sculptures and paintings or borrow them for the day and have it in each section. It'll make people not only interested but they will learn about each country.

    Good Luck
