  1. You can buy alfafa or timothy cubes. They are hard little blocks of hay & they are great for two reasons. Not only do they give the vitamins needed from hay they naturally wear down your rabbits teeth as well :) Plus they are not messy at all!

  2. I bought small hay racks which clip on to the front of the hutch.  You can put the hay in these and they have to pull it out, it means it won't go all over the cage (or at least it shouldn't!).

It works well for food enrichment as the rabbit actually had to work to get the food - helps stop boredom!

Lots of examples of rabbit hay racks here:  http://www.vagavalley.co.uk/bunnysupplie...

  3. My rabbit only gets hay in his litter box. I tried a hay rack once with my guinea pigs, and it really didn't make a difference - hay still got everywhere. Keeping the hay in a box is better for "containment," but you have to add fresh hay frequently to keep it clean.

But yes, hay is very messy. If anybody has a better way, by all means enlighten me...there's always stray hay around my house.

  4. I'd either get alfalfa cubs, or if like me and you can't find them you can buy a rack that attaches to the cage, or something that I haven been looking into is a ball. I saw it at Pet smart, its a wired ball that you can fill with alfalfa and it spins around so your bunny can get it out easier.
