  1. Fat's is a grat idea. But there is quite a bit down Scott Rd

  2. Folsom Bistro. North side of river past the old town tourisst area, on the left in a shopping center. The owner used to cook at The Firehouse in Old Sac, his mother bakes fresh bread (mmmmgood)

Hawks on Douglas in Granite Bay is great to! It's in the shopping center with the Peets Coffee. Toast is a breakfast place in there too.

The kitchens in all are clean and staffed by pro's

  3. Yes!

Especially if you like Asian food...

Fat's Asian Bistro and Dim Sum Bar

    2585 Iron Point Road

    Folsom

    (916) 983-1133

Cool atmosphere, great Asian food, lots of creative appetizers.  Mostly Chinese, with Korean, Japanese, and California Cuisine influences...Pacific Rim is I believe what the style is called.

If you are in the mood for something else, here are yelp.com review pages for restaurants in the Folsom area:

  4. If you're willing to drive up Highway 50 for 4 exits, there's a great place called the Redbud Cafe.  http://www.redbudcafe.com/  The food is exquisite and uses unique combinations of flavors.  Everything from a gourmet version of pepperoni pizza to Snakeriver Farms Kurobuto Pork Chop (with a cilantro lime butter, hoisin, garlic mashed potatoes, crispy onion rings, asparagus, and mango puree).  The head chef creates a menu that seems more at home in San Francisco, but he's made a place for himself in the small town of Cameron Park.  They also have an extensive wine collection if you're interested.

If you're looking for something fast and relatively inexpensive, try Pei Wei Asian Diner off the East Bidwell Road exit.  http://www.peiwei.com  It's a subsidiary of the P.F. Chang's China Bistro and I've never been disappointed.  The menu features a wide variety of dishes and the spicy ones (which can get pretty hot) are clearly marked.

Good luck on your eating excursion!
