We're looking for something really, really good, but not too pricey (less than $50/person); preferably a steakhouse or Japanese but any recommendations will help. Thanks!

  1. Morton's is an excellent steakhouse, and they have a dinner for two special for $99 that's worth checking out.  The deal is good through June and is not on the menu.  You have to go to the website and request the certificate, print it out, and bring it with you to the restaurant.   http://www.mortons-steakhouse.com/ss6/we...

  2. for Japanese:

mikados on woodway in the memorial area

    benihanna downtown

    steakhouse:

brenners on ih-10 close to the beltway

vic and anthonys (a little pricier)

these are just a couple off the top of my head

also there is fogo de chao, which has AMAZING all you can eat churascaria, very top of the line, i think its 45/ person

  3. The Spindletop rotating restaurant 30 stories up on top of the Hyatt Restaurant Hotel is a very romantic place to go, and fits you price considerations.

They have a web site you can see and can view their menu too and their prices.

Be sure and make reservations about a week in advance.

  4. zio's on 45 north side of town. make sure you get off at exit 65 instead of 64. yes its longer, but you avoid going through the neighboorhood where you get raped and shot for wearing the wrong color skin

  5. Antonia's by katy mills mall

  6. Taste of Texas which is off the 10, is REALLY good. complimentary salad bar. (sound cheapie, but not at all), and within your price range.

I love love Baba Yegas, on Grant off Montrose.

It's a small house that's been converted to a restaurant. You can ask to sit outside in the garden which is very nice. Food is EXCELLENT!

  7. try Arby's, they're a little pricey. if you want to be safe, I'd go with BK.
