  1. Always start slow and speed up at every lap/mile, Eat good nutritional foods, exercise before you run, and remember always run with your head up, not looking down nor backwards but up!

  2. When you pump your arms, make sure they don't just flop around...you want them going strong...hip to heart, hip to heart.

Don't start the race going for first....hang back a little and speed up throughout the race....generally you will bring in all the runners who started too fast.

Try to control your breathing while you run, like try breathing every 2 steps or 3 instead of spastic breathing.

Run with a positive attitude...it really does help when you aren't thinking negative.

    Eat heathy(obvious one)

Get a regular pattern of good sleep, not just the night before a race or big run, staying up late can affect your running even four or five days after it happened.

Have fun...goes along with positive attitude

and finally...work hard in practice, it really pays off in the end...but don't go so hard you injure yourself, have goals, but know your still human.
