  1. www.learninfreedom.org

    www.education-otherwise.org

    www.enchantedlearning.com (not all free though)

    www.heas.org.uk

Two of these are British, but still generally useful because of links.  Incidentally, Education Otherwise is basically doomed.

Software-wise, you name it, but right now we're using BYKI a lot for foreign language learning.

  2. Websites... there are bunches... although many of them repeat the same material.

As part of a small business, we maintain several:

    Homeschool Student Newspaper Service:

    http://www.yourstudentnews.com

Education Resource Directory (including bunches of homeschool sites): http://www.yourstudentnews.com/resources

    Online Academic Portfolio Service:

    http://www.yourStudentPortfolio.com

There are bunches and bunches of Yahoo Groups dedicated to homeschooling.

A newer site that shows promise for "homeschool social networking" is http://www.hslaunch.com

    Software?  That is so broad!

We like Rosetta Stone for studying foreign language.

We like Kaplan test prep software.

For earlier grades I would highly recommend MathBlaster.

  3. Hi,  I use Switched on Schoolhouse, by Alpha Omega Publishing.  They have an excellent program that is easy enough to follow. It is all Computer oriented.  You can buy the subjects individually or in a five pack with the core subjects.  I really like it.  Another one that is very good is Abeka.  I haven't used it, because I didn't find it affordable.   The Switched on Schoolhouse or SOS as it is called is really affordable, and you can buy them from ebay stores at a lower price. I hope this helps you!

  4. Switched on Schoolhouse.

  5. Try www.edhelper.com and www.abcteach.com.

Both of these offer free stuff, as well as much more with a small yearly membership fee. ( I actually homeschooled my child with these resources for his entire first grade curriculum.)

Thanks and I hope this helped.
