  1. belize has the second best coral reef in the world! (second to the great barrier) make SUREEE you go snorkeling/scuba diving as the experience was amazing and check out caye caulkner. i went on an independent tour with coral breeze and they were great. we were about 10 people total. had a private tour of the reef, fed the string rays and went to a little island were people got around with golf carts. had a nice lunch there and headed back to the inland.

  2. the ruins, shopping, snuba, snorkeling, diving, dolphins.. lots!

  3. I went on a cruise a few weeks ago that went to Belize and we had a lot of fun. If you like shopping, you’ll love Belize.

The waters are beautiful from the ship (I‘m guessing your going on a cruise since this question is in Cruise Travel), very clear so you can see the sand and the most beautiful blue colored water you’ll ever see. To get to shore you’ll have to take a tender boat (a small boat that takes you from the boat to the land) because the water is so shallow. When you get away from the calmer water where the boat aren’t running their jets, the water turns brown from the sand and dirt coming up, it’s not very pretty, but it’s a site. Then port itself looks like it was dug out because it is darker there.

Once off the boat, you’ll enter a shopping area that is set up in “terminals” that are like  series of long hallways with shops all around you. There are LOTS of knock-off bag shops and souvenir shops. In every hallway there is a Diamonds International, seriously there is one every where you turn and they all look busy. There are areas amongst the hallways that are open with trees and pillars with Mayan writing and symbols. Its all so pretty! You can exit that area to enter a flea market kind of place lots of streets with tents where people are selling things like jewelry, wood carvings, souvenirs, and tons more. We didn’t go, but there are a lot of taxi guys offering to take you to the beach (I didn’t see any beaches, but they said they were there) and Mayan temples and ruins.

Back on the boat we were talking with some of the other quests about what they did and a lot of they did stuff in the jungle like zip-lines and cave exploring. Check out the excursions online from your cruise line's website. We just shopped, but the excursions looked like fun and I’m sure they were all great.

I know you’ll have a lot of fun! Enjoy your trip! Hope I was helpful… :)

  4. Check out Shoretrips.com  They have a section on things to see and do in Belize.  If you Scuba dive, that's a great spot.  Also a lot of good Mayan ruins and pyramids nearby.  Eco tours are popular, too.

  5. Yes, but most of them are underwater. lol.  Seriously, it is some of the clearest water and best diving/snorkeling in the world.  So, if you want to dive, or learn to dive - this is the place.

  6. when we stopped in Belize back in Feb of this year we did the Altun Ha Ruins and Belize River tour. our tour guide was so passionate about her country and culture (if i remember correctly her name is Leeza?) which made it all the better. we saw some huge crocodiles on the river tour portion.

    have fun!
