  1. Never wait to do things because you think you're planning too far ahead. Start a least a year in advance & don't procrastinate. The earlier you get things done, the better.

It goes from fun to stressful fast! :)

  2. Think about it until youre 40 then forget it.

  3. If you are trying to save money, buy things online.  A lot of times, you can get pieces of stuff and put them together.  Save a lot of money.

For example, my wife and I gave a small box with a votive candle in it to all of our guests.  We priced boxes, candles and votive holders at a retail store and it came out to around  $2.20 a piece.

A little research online and we were able to get all of those from different websites, brought the price down to $1.00 each.

We did that in a couple places, and really saved a lot of money.

Other than that, start planning a lot earlier than you think you should.  You should be on cruise control the last month and not worring about anything but the last details.

  4. DYI. (Do it yourself).

a good place to start: www.theknot.com  They have step by step planning help such as "12 months before you should do this, 11 months before do this etc etc." a GREAT help. they have a budgeter you enter how much you wanna spend and it gives you a rough estimate of what you should spend in what areas of the wedding (btw Start with your budget before you plan anything. and decide on the size). Make a rough guest list so you can budget the reception accordingly.  Plus the site has a TON of great advice and lets you create a website with all your wedding details so you can share with people.

Doing favours or centre pieces yourself.  Buy blank invitations and print them off on your home printer.

Use Yahoo Answers for every question you have and can't find info for. lol  Really, everyone here is a great help, well most people....some are just rude but ignore them.

    Anyways Congrats and good luck!
