M hamster just changed her schedule to waking up when Igo to sleep at night. She's very loud on her wheel and it says it was supposed to be silent but I knew it wouldnt be but its pretty loud so I cant get to sleep. I can sleep through the noise once I get to sleep though. So any good tips to block out the noise. ~Thanx!~

  1. I agree with Courtney ... BOX FANS RULE!!  Haha.  But seriously... sleeping with some sort of white noise in the background should help.  If you don't want to run a fan all the time, try getting a white noise machine.  They are pretty cool (they have rain, waves, birds chirping, crickets, etc), but about five times more expensive than a fan.

    Good Luck!

  2. If your hamster is making too much noise then move it to another room.  Also if the wheel is making to much noise oil it with kitchen oil.

    Hope I helped!

  3. Ear plugs?   :)

  4. Well, what I have always done (this is actually how I NEED to sleep, because my mom did this since I was a baby, so I can't sleep in silence..) is use a box fan on high. Box fans are champions at drowning out noises. :P My rat has one of those crinkly tubes that he LOVES to go into in the middle of the night and I can't even hear it. ;P

You could also try falling asleep to an ipod, as well, if you don't have a fan. However, I looove my fans. Nice airflow AND noise blockers. ;P

  5. Try earplugs. See suggestions in link

  6. I have the same problem .

And my hammy cage is in another room.

  7. Silent Spinners work GREAT! Also to make your wheel less noisy you can but veggie oil (which is safe for them) on the axel.

    Good Night!!! xD

  8. There are 4 good ways to solve this problem.

    1. Put Veggie oil on the axel

    2. Cover the cage with a towel or somthing like a towel.

3.Put the cage in the closet at night and shut the closet door.

    4. Change the hamsters schedule by keeping her up all day she will sleep at night. You only should have to do this once but if it dosn't work chances are it won't work ever.

  9. I have a bunny and i had the same problem. I put a blanket over the cage and my bunny actually started to calm down at night.

    Hope i helped!
