Just wonder if you guys have any problem getting back to the US? I've been away for 9 months now, and so worried that the immigration won't let me in. Is there anything I should prepare?

  1. go read here about green card holders;

    it is a bit long, but all infos included.

  2. Yak Rider is correct. If this is your first extended stay outside of the US, they're not likely to deny you entry. You don't automatically lose your green card status until you've been outside of the US for over a year. However, as YR points out, green cards are intended to live primarily in the US, and if you're spending most of your time outside of the US and only vacationing here, at some point you will lose your green card.

  3. You should have no problems coming back after 9 months.  The cutoff for losing your green card is 1 year.  However, if you take another extended trip in the near future there's an excellent chance you will not be allowed back using your green card.  A green card is for people who actually live in the United States.  It's not some sort of "super visa."
