Question:

Any hair cut style suggestions for thick, naturally curly hair?

My hair is thick, frizzy, and naturally curly. I have always kept it long. The only way I can get it to look decent is with a lot of mouse ( or gel) and hairspray. I can't really do anything with it, and I am just looking for a new hair cut to give my hair a new look, and more style options. Any suggestions? Please help... Thanks!

  1. I suggest to cut it to about shoulderlength, use frizz serum, and shampoo for curly hair. My mom had the same problem. Also, you should have alot of really, REALLY big butterfly clips and just clip up your hair if you want it off your back. I suggest bangs too, but short ones or normal length ones.

  2. I find that my curls aren't so controllable when they're long! I keep mine cut between the bottom of my chin to shoulder length. I have long layers cut in as well to keep the curls looking separate and not just a couple of long ringlets. Normally, I towel dry my hair and let it air dry on my way to work. Also, at the shorter length, it's easier to straighten and wear a straight style.  I know that my products make all the difference...I like KMS Curl Up spray, Tigi Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Booster, and John Frieda Frizz Ease serum.

    Good luck!

  3. My hair is also, thick, sometimes frizzy, and naturally curly. I got a cut that seems to work well with our hair type. I got long layers in my hair, and had it cut to the lower nape of my neck. I use a smoothing serum, and mouse and then dry it slightly with a difuser, while schrunching it. I do love my curls, and have alot of compliments on my hair. Tried the flat iron route, and it was too time comsuming, damaging, and thought why not enhance what God has given me! Also, make sure your stylist, thins it down, so it will be more manageable. The best to you!

  4. Hi, I have the same problem as you. You should try the slanted bob! It looks really nice on curly hair and frames your face! It especially looks great with thick curly hair!
