Question:

Any hairdressers who can help me?

I went to my hairdressers yesterday for some foil highlights. I color my own hair a medium blonde to hide the greys and wanted to break up the all over color look. The stylist put in highlights and lowlights. The highlights were a blonde "high lift" demi permanent color which look very good. The lowlights were a darker blonde color. Some of the lowlights turned a very dark, almost purple color which I hated. So he took those areas and added bleach to take out the dark color which left those areas ORANGE. He seemed confused about what to do and I just wanted to get out of there. Any ideas about what to do about those orange streaks??

  1. Get that highlighter by conair and use that!

  2. the same thing happened to me recently.  I went home and with the help of a friend I put a light brown  permanent hair colour - I like Loreal Excellernce -over the orange bits.  It was a bit tricky separating out the blond hightlights but we managed to preserve most of them.  Use a tint brush and put the colour in a bowl and paint it on like the hairdressers do.  (Before you start dyeing paint the blonde bits with thick conditioner and twist them together) You might end up a bit darker than you planned - I did - but it was better than what was there before.  And I was surprised how quickly it has faded down over the last 6 weeks to a very acceptable colour.

  3. I wish I knew. A few months ago, I went in for highlights at a place of friend of mine went. Apparently, I got a different hair stylist. This woman bleached my whole head!!!!!!!!

It burned like acid. I looked like a tabby cat. It was not pretty. Now, I have dark roots. When I can't stand it anymore, I get a box of dye at wal mart and add highlights which blends better. But it only lasts a few weeks and my hair is getting frazzled from all of the processing.

    Never again.

I will do it myself from now on. It can't possibly look any worse than what that WOMAN did to me. How she got dye everything out of "I want highlights," I will never understand.

    Best of luck to you.

  5. i dont understand how this stylist could let you walk out of his salon like that?

anyway, go to sallys and ask for a toner with a blue base.  blue will neutralize the orange.

do to the bleach you may possibly need a color filler...basically a shade the same level as your hair or lighter with a natural base (equal amounts of primaries).
