Any help is appreciated! =] hair & mouth?!?

Okay, I've looked on the internet, but I can't find what I'm looking for.

Every time I shower, and I get finished washing my hair- I run my fingers through it- and hair comes out. I know this is normal to shed..and I have very thick hair, but I've noticed more coming out..

I also have a flaky scalp- I've tried everything, better shampoo, hot oil treatments, asking a hair stylist..Nothing has worked..I've even tried home remedies such as mayonnaise. =[

Also, I feel like I have problems swallowing..Not like a lot of trouble, but just like some thing's back there- but there isn't. I'm a nail biter and a few days ago I thought it was one of my nails I accidentally swallowed ( I know, stupid)..But after a few days, I couldn't feel the nail anymore..Now, just the problem swallowing..

I was just wondering if anyone knew what this could be.

Thanks in advance.

  1. this is normal ,

  2. hair naturally falls out. if you take medications it could be worse. but it shouldn't be anything to worry about unless you start to notice balding. and i think the nail biting might be responsible for your throat hurting. it sounds odd but it doesn't sound serious.

  3. Are you on any type of birth control? I know sometimes that change in hormones can cause hair to fall out.

Unless your hair is falling out and it is noticeable on your head, I would not worry. We are supposed to lose a certain amount of hair each day.

  4. If your scalp is flaky you may be having a fungal infection. I recommend you to use Ketoconazole shampoo twice a week for 3 weeks and to follow up with Polytar shampoo twice a week for 4 weeks.

It is always better to consult a dermatologist.

You must be losing hair at a rate which is more than the regular loss due to normal wear and tear.

Ketoconazole is an antifungal agent and Polytar has an ingredient to remove the flakes.

    I am a medical doctor.
