I started 5 years ago, but quit in 2007. I'm starting again, but I kind of lost touch with a few things. Does anybody have any tricks to help me remember which turn/jump has which name??

  1. well depends on how old you are and were uve gottten to.

    look at basic ballet sites.

    http://www.theatredance.com/balletterm1....

    try that first.

  2. thats what happened to me, i danced for 10 years then took a year off and i was rusty the best way to get better and remember things is take the last class level you took over a again. and you build up your muscles again.

  3. http://abt.org/education/dictionary/inde... helped me alot

  4. Heehee, learn French.

But um, an online dictionary would definitely help. I'm sure you could google plenty of those for ballet. Also, there's this really helpful book I have "Technical Manual and Dictionary of Classical Ballet" by Gail Grant, it's so very helpful. I don't know if you could borrow it from a library or not though because someone gave this to me, but check into it.

  5. personally, i'd research it. when i class, notice the name and how you articulate it, then make up a word in you're head to help you remember.

  6. You are going to have an extremely hard time coming back.

  7. you could try this website - Its American Ballet Thearter's Ballet Dictionary

    http://abt.org/education/dictionary/inde...

    Hope it helps♥
