I may have a cyst, I'll find out on tuesday, but until then I'm in agony!

NSAIDS are like prescription strength M&M's, so I think I want to try a more natural approach to this.

Any suggestions are welcome!

  1. Ohhh hun that's so terrible for you ........ i've experienced some pretty horrible pains in my time too mate.

You know what many of the cramping, bloating, crying spells, depressive symptoms are from when we are on our menses ?? It's mainly due to magnesium not being in ample enough supply in our bodies........... yep, magnesium deficiency causes many of the symptoms and will quite quickly knock cramping, nausea and vomiting etc. on the head. So try eating more foods rich in magnesium and see whether that quells the pain for you.

foods rich in magnesium are ~ leafy and green vegies, wholegrain breads and cereals, organic ground up nuts and seeds like almonds, brazil nuts, sunflower seeds (ground up to aid in digestion of same).............. fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines and whiting and bananas too are rich in magnesium, so eat a banana hun.... actually tuna and salmon are also rich in essential fatty acids which will help level out your mood and stress levels and nourish your brain and nervous system ....... and bolster your immunity.

magnesium is known as the antistress mineral and foods rich in magnesium will also resolve an acid tummy, help resolve migraines and headaches, resolve muscle twitching and relieve constipation and acid tummy and also help you deal with stressy life situations.

magnesium rich foods will also do a good job of relieving depression and the blues.

Take a good quality multi B complex supplement also to assist in a healthy nervous, immune and digestive system and to combat some of the stress of being on your menses. Get one that includes all the B's ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 andB12 as they work best synergistically (together) .... a liquid supplement would be the easiest for your body to assimilate....... the B complex of vitamins will also help you to deal with the everyday helping of stress we are all exposed to at some level.

To alleviate any excessive bleeding and help reduce cramping too  go get yourself some organic loose leaf nettle tea from your local health food store. Simply put 2 teaspoons full into a teapot and fill with hot water and leave to brew for 10 - 15 minutes......... drink 2 - 3 cups per day whilst on your menses to alleviate your symptoms and boost your energy......... just make sure you brush your teeth thoroughly or it may stain them.

Sweeten to taste with organic raw honey, or squeeze fresh lemon juice into it if you find the taste a bit bland.

Nettle is an herb very high in vitamin K, which guards against excessive bleeding. Nettle improves kidney function neutralizes uric acid, preventing its crystallization, aiding in its elimination from the system, thus relieving gout and arthritis. Nettle is useful as a tea for anemic children, due to its nutritive value....... so will also increase your energy levels & help resolve any fatigue ... Nettle is also high in minerals such as iron, calcium, sulfur, sodium, copper, magnesium, manganese, chromium, and silicon. Nettle is also used as an astringent to help stop bleeding and to reduce menses flow. Nettle is also a blood purifier and assists in lowering blood pressure.

Really and truly, try the nettle tea, it works wonders for reducing any excessive bleeding and ridding yourself of the cramps and nourishes you with precious calcium, iron, vitamin K, etc... at the same time.... works for me and i used to have hideous bleeding & cramping .... ;0)

please make sure that you still drink at least 2 - 3 litres of fresh filtered water daily as nothing substitutes for water and the happiest and healthiest body will always be the most hydrated one.

    hope this helps u

    peace 2 u

  2. Hi Sheena, sorry to hear about your pain, you could try these two suggestions:

A massage on your abdomen/back/thighs with Clary Sage oil diluted in warm Sweet Almond oil (doubly good if provided by a warm-handed partner...and it wont hurt to get carried away - orgasms ease cramps incredibly well!). You can get Clary Sage from the health food shop for about $15 a bottle. You could also put it in a nice hot bath.

Drinking valerian tea. Valerian smells like mouldy cheese and tastes like mud-encrusted shoes, but it's a stong anti-spasmodic and it works for me. Just don't make any plans...valerian is most often used to bring on sleep!

    Good luck

  3. I used to get severs cramps in high school, so bad at times i had to stay home .I looked into accupuncture cause none of the over the counter meds worked. So i made an appointment and it worked wonders for me . This treatment might not be for everyone, but it was the only way for me. Call, and talk to a dr who specializes in this field and tell him your symptons. What have you got to loose? Good luck.

  4. water melon ...the reason your cramping is because your uterus is swelling and if your intestines are impacted there is no where for the swelling to go .water mellon helps flush you out

even better is a full intestional cleansing program

  5. sorry about your cramps. but I've heard about this great herb called damiana. it can be bought at most health stores for cheap. you can smoke it or make a tea with it. it helps with cramps, PMS, and relaxation. try it!

*warning* may have psychoactive qualities in high doses. do not take in excess of 4 cups of tea/10 cigs unless you wanna have a really good time. may also increase sexual pleasure

  6. take some magnesium, and especially iron. in the mean time just try to relax on the couch, a blanket, a tv, maybe a bit of your favourite food if you feel well enough to eat.
