  1. The Valmiki Ramayana seems to be dated some where between 750 to 500 B.C.

    The Kamban Ramayanam is written in 12th Century A.D.

    The very fact that Mahrdhi Agastya is mentioned both in Sansskrit and Valmiki Ramayana as well as in Tamil literature, I think the mention of Rama must be there before Kamban in tamil literature.
