  1. Braces really are cake and the pain is really no big deal.  It is just a matter of do you really need them or not?   Because most cases go atleast 2 years to get the desired results.

  2. LOL!! im getting mine on the 31, too!!

    some say it kills

and some say its not bad.

    im getting spacers tomorrow.

but dont touch your braces too much.

and if a bracket brakes call ur ortho ASAP!

    avoid sticky foods

    and eat soft foods.

good luck to both of us!

  3. They kinda hurt when you get them on but its morre like an annoyance. After about two days you will for get you even have them on. Just a warning... of all the foods that they say to stay away from, carmel is the worst. I had to have about three brackets replaced because the goo broke them.

  4. lol..my friend once had braces and her boyfriend kissed her and his bottom lip got stuck in her braces..they had to walk to the principals office like that..it was so funny...they get stuck on everything so be careful...i heard they don't hurt

  5. I had braces for two years; they were kinda weird at first, granted, but eventually they just become another part of your mouth. Unless you need teeth taken out etc the most amount of pain you'll go through is a bit of aching as the teeth move about, particularly when you get them tightened. But a simple painkiller should dull the pain down a fair amount. The best advice I can give you is don't pick at them, and don't eat large solid foods like apples (unless you cut them up first!). Also when you brush your teeth, make sure you're not vicious and spend a couple of minutes longer just to make sure you've gotten underneath and around all the brace buttons. Trust me, the time and effort is definitely worth it in the long run =].

  6. I think at first it does. Not really getting them put on, just after the next couple weeks when your teeth are moving to the right place. But I had really messed up teeth. So idk. And then every time I went to the Ortho, the next couples days I couldn't chew much and my teeth hurt because they tightened them.

My advice? Pig out on all your favorite "hard to chew" foods right now, because you wont be able to eat them for a while.

But idk if that is the same with everyone. Because when I just had my wisdom teeth pulled, everyone said it would stop swelling in 3 days. Mine swelled noticeably for over a week. Didn't hurt, just swelled.

But after a while I start to not even notice I had them on. Sometimes I forgot I even had them, because I barely felt them past 11th grade (maybe sooner, idk that far back).  They're not that bad... stick in there. You will appreciate it in the end.

  7. it hurts. they will tell you it wont but it will. but once you've had them for a while the pain goes away. sugarfree gum is pretty safe.
