I am going to try to homeschool my 7th grader this year, there is just too much bull c**p at the middle school, and I feel this is in his best interest. Does anyone else do this and do you have any suggestions, or know of any good free sites to visit?

  1. I had to due to bullying of my ten year old nephew home school him. He is doing grade 6. You can contact your state education board for info or google homeschooling. Be careful to look before you leap with books etc from homeschooling suppliers. We bought all they suggested and spent hundreds more than needed. The one big difference is that my nephew found having a non schedule day freaked him out. This was because he did not have to do all the extra fill in classes he used to fill his day in with. He is fine now and we have found it a great experience as we can look ahead to places to visit to learn hands on. We just have a few strict rules. No computer games allowed during what would be school days unless using it for study. The class room can be anywhere, backyard, park and ongoing. It may take about a month to settle into it.

Do not forget to include life skills eg cooking, shopping etc. Good luck.

  3. The School Board in your jurisdiction can assist you.

However, when you home school, leave things like   b...c....out of the

    curriculum.
