Question:

Any hope of repairing cd's with plastic case dividers that "melted" on to them?

I bought a book on cd and I've left it in the case in the car in the Mississippi heat. The plastic protective deviders sort of shrunk around the cds and when I got them out there are squiggly line on the cd's. I've tried cleaning with rubbing alcohol (internet suggestion) and it didn't do any good. Any other suggestions?

  1. If the lines are smooth to the surface, I would try to play it.  The marks may or may not be removable but maybe they won't affect the contents as most players 'over sample' and can play anyway with few, if any, dropouts.

Otherwise buy a new one and DON'T leave it in the car.
