Any idea how an American can find a job in Portugal?

I'm a 30-something American with wife and 2 kids looking for a gig in Portugal. I have a lot of experience in sales and television production. Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Portugal and I will tell you the true and we all know about It...

We can't lie just because we live here and show you that our country is number one.

Portugal is amazing country, Do u know Algarve? Yes, It's beautiful, there you can have a great time! Also It's a country with history BUT If you wanna find a job don't came to Portugal coz life here about money is getting really hard, many people are not working because It's not easy to find a job here!

Many portuguese people are abroading to spain because there they can have for month 800/1000Euros and in Portugal you can have only 500Euros, It's ashamed!

And you are american, for sure in your country you have more oportunities. You will be really wellcome here in Portugal, amazing people and amazing places but If you wanna live here, If you wanna work here, If u wanna have money, I think that It's not a good idea!

Go to spain, there I'm sure you will have more oportunites or even England.

If you came here for gig or something in relation with jobs, I think that Its better you forget this idea, but If It's a dream, lol, nothing is impossible, so good luck!

Well, its true that Portugal is a bit...ehm..problematic, when we talk about economy.

But at the islands, in my opinion, that's not so true. Here are some people that don't work, but most of them don't because they don't find jobs (if u know what I mean..they just want money without working, others don't have school...but there are some that can't find jobs, like teachers. being teacher is difficult here, cuz we have soo many :D ).

Here in Madeira, its and Island that belongs to Portgal, really beautiful and HOT weather almost all the year, everything is about tourism! Well, in this area you would find a million jobs!

RTP - Madeira its the station of TV here in Madeira, and the only one. Cuz the *big* Studios are in Portugal, and are TVI, SIC and RTP.

Well, Portugal it's all about education and....also luck! And I'm sure when u go there to search work and say :"I'm american", they will love that fact, cuz (I don't know why!) Portuguese respect a lot strangers! I don't know why, but many here think like "what comes from out of portugal is good, everything from portugal is s***!" I never figure that out, why they think so :D

Well, and it's true that spain are "richer" but to be honest (and I'm half portuguese and half spanish and I loooove spain, so what I say it's not cuz I hate spain or something like that!), but I think portuguese people are nicer than spanish. Well, there are also nice spanish people and "cold" portuguese, but I think portuguese are more informal and nicer...

Well, I hope thats bring u a bit of a vision of these life!

And sorry for my english...I don't think it is really bad, but, well, perfect neither!

you speak English go to algarve (south) but TV stations are in Lisbon (centre) so its up to you now.

If you speak Portuguese and has some experience required for the kind of job you're seeking it should be fairly easy to get a job there...
