Any idea where to find a tutor willing to work for pay to homeschool a child?

Im trying to find a homeschooling tutor to work 3-4 hours a day 5 days a week and am having trouble. Any ideas or links that would help? P.S. for the South New Jeresey area.

  1. I hate to tell you this but its hard for your child to get the entire home school experience if you are going to hire a tutor

Post an ad in the local college's newspaper.  You might find an education major or graduate student who could help.  Another place to look at is the local private school.  Private schools in my area, at least, attend fewer hours each day and the teachers are paid less.  You may find someone there who could provide tutoring.

    I don't really think all of that tutoring will be necessary, however.  There are lots of online programs with two way communication.  You might want a tutor for your weakest areas, but the amount of hours seems like an overload.

  3. Call your child's home public school they can sometimes arrange tutoring.

    A high school student should be able to complete most work independently using a computer or text book program.  Here are some of your options:
