Any idea why my teacher is doing this?

im 13... and i'm confused about my maths teacher.

at the start of the year, i knew he really really liked me ( as a student )

I was like his favourite ever, and in parents evening he told my dad that i would do him proud at the end of the year.

it's nearly the end of the year, and i have changed so much then... i don't really listen much, and i always chat & stuff.

he's became really really annoyied with me & hes like 'i hope your not talking nicole'

& i just laugh

and he gives me evils when i keep speaking.

he says he's putting peoples names up on the board for a detention at lunch if they speak...

and one person just spoke once in a whisper... and theres me about 10 times speaking really loud, and he know I was, but he was just telling me to be quiet, and he never puts my name on the board.

I think he thinks i'm really sensitive, and he thinks i like him i think, and i think he thinks that i would get upset & stuff.

He keeps giving you chances to redeem yourself and what do you do.........?

That he liked you at the beggining doesn't mean that he isn't going to punish you if you do something wrong. Remember: you are still at school.

If you will stop talking, and start working, everything will be like it was at the start.

Treat school with respect. many children would give everything up just to go to school. We are very lucky.

You're obviously a favourite, but you are using that to youyr own advantage by talking in class, a lot, which you shouldn't really do anyway.

Do you go to year round school or something? Anyway, I think he is just trying to be a teacher and when a teacher likes you, you shouldn't take advantage of that because then your teacher will get pissed at you.

Hey sweetie,

Your maths teacher is trying in his own way to help you. As you said he really thinks you can do well and get good grades you are one of his best students it sounds like. I imagine he's doing this because he's disappointed with you by not listening and take in stuff like you used to. I think he's hopeing that you will go back to your old ways and just sit and do the maths without in a way getting distracted. Trust me its the best thing to sit and work and not mess around. As when it comes up to GCSEs they are the ones who decide what papers you do for maths Higher or Foundation. You should be aiming for Higher, its best to just work hard and stay on the gd side of him..

just be quiet in maths then he wont do it and you will learn alot more which is important coz it gets alot harder. He is playing faves tho-i know its a bit embarrassing coz every will be like mer he fancys you but ignore them.

I would put your name on the board; you would put your name on the board, why doesn't he put your name on the board. Goodness knows, but why are you testing him like this? You know you are in the wrong, so stop talking. He is probably disappointed that a such a promising student at the begining of the year has turned into little Miss Average, thinking it's more clever to bedistracted than to study. You forget, he sees this all the time, and probably thinks it's such a waste of a brain.
