We were planning to do a walkthrough maze/haunted house this year - it will be in a 1800 sq. FT. barn with no horses stalls, it is 2 storys tall and is 28' x 32'. so far we are planning to do a maze with cardboard painted black & black fabric, so far we thought that we would have scenes staggered down the halls, and drop down mechanics, we will also have some "Rooms" that the guest will walk through - so far we have these ideas:

A Jailer - scene - man behind bars screaming

Automatic Drop Down Skeleton - hanging

Operating room - scene - surguery gone bad

Man with Chainles chain saw - scene - chasing - jump out

Hanging bats - walk under

Neon Room - this will be a room made from neon spotted black fabric, we will make clothes from the same fabric, and have people stand against the wall in these suits under a black light, this way they will be virtually invisible, when people walk through, they jump out at them.

Blood Puddle - red dye

Hanging Skulls - walk under

  1. Okay, for the blood puddle, use water, but light the room red, so the dye does not ruin peoples shoes. And only charge 2 or 3 dollars for admission, and accept donations. And you could also do a spider room, fill a room full of those spider webs, and make a giant spider from paper mache, or something. Hope this helps.

  2. If this is your first large haunt i would suggest no charge at all, but rather a sort of tip/donation jar at the end so they CAN say hey that was a great haunt i think il give them my money.

And may i suggest something? Dont just have random scenes like your describing, pick a theme for the hole haunt then you could have different things going on in different rooms but it still is connected with the over all theme. For example you could have  an evil carnival theme and then have one room with jack in the boxes, or maybe a hall of mirrors.  The point is dont just randomly scare people, haunts with themes are haunts that people remember.
