Any ideas for Fancy Dress for a 4 year old girl?

My daughter (4 yrs) has to participate in a Fancy Dress Competition... I thought of a fairy princess, but was wondering if you would be able to suggest something more innovative and less common to dress her up in!

In addition to that, she has to also sing a small song etc. pertaining to the same costume! any ideas??

Also, I might add, I am unable to order in costumes from the internet / buy costumes... I will have to make the costumes from scratch, but im quite good at craft etc. so that shouldn't be too much of a problem, just need the IDEAS!!!

any and all help and ideas are more than welcome and greatly appreciated!!!!

She could go as a little girl who does Indian dance ... and that would look pretty ... and then her song could co-ordinaate with that ...

make her a bread land queen i.e dress her up in a dress made by breadpac covers/maggi queen dress her in a maggipacs dress with yellow wool hanging down as maggi all over her/astronaut/shilpashetty with a racists defence dialogue added to it

Fairies are pretty common. I suggest you pick up a historical/mythological person and let her enact.

For ex., I would say "Medusa". Doesn't look beautiful, but you can make her to look beautiful at the same time resembling Medusa.

Dear, dress her like a princess...with a nice crown..and curl hair she would look pretty....

At my daughter's 4 year old b-day party, she dressed as a butterfly princess,  it was the cutest.  Butterfly wings, tutu, tiara, and wand.  What more could a little princess, or "Fancy" girl want?  Also, it's very creative and something easy to do.

And, I don't know which one yet, but I'm sure there's a great spring time song that will fit.
