Kids love balloons, you just have to make sure they don't pop them, and if they do you get all the pieces picked up because they WILL try and eat them.

Try having Music if your child likes it, something age appropriate, or something He/she likes that you listen to at home.

Cake can be an exciting event all its own, let them get messy and have fun.

Since Diego deals with lots of animals you could get stuffed animals for the party in various animal shapes.

Possibly a trip to the park?

It all depends on your child and how developed they are, and what makes them happy.

I hope I helped, I have no kids of my own, but watch my cousins boys when she goes out of town. they're 1 and almost 2, So i'm not really good at planning stuff.
