Question:

Any ideas for a day out in london with my mother?

I'm a 15 year old girl ... with my mother nearing her forties, the obvious rift between us is widening rapidly. Thus the suggestion of a mother-daughter bonding session... that's right.

I mean, she's a lovely person, but we're just not compatible. Last time i took her to Camden. That went down particularly well (mainly because i avoided the good shops with hippy junk).

My idea for the next one would be an art gallery or something. But apparently we've 'done' the tate; her idea of looking at art is a quick browse then coffee. Does anyyone now f a place in London i can take her that combines art galleries, charing cross manga shops and markets with coffee, shopping and salad?

thankyou!!

  1. Go shopping in covent garden. Or you could go up and down bankside. There are often loads of street artists there, which you might enjoy. There's also the globe, and the tate if she feels like going again when you get there.

  2. Spittlefields market is funky and somewhere you can get a coffee, do some shopping and even have some lunch.

The other option would be to do seven dials and Neils Market which is good and a little less hippy chic than Spittlefields.

  3. shopping shopping shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I had a day out in London with my mum recently and had a really good time.

We went shopping in Oxford Street. The Topshop there is massive and you could spend so many hours (and pounds!) in there. There would be stuff for both of you. There is even a cafe.

We had lunch at Garfunkels, but there is also a really cool resteraunt called Bella Italia, somewhere around there which I have been to before and serves up some really delicious proper italian pizzas.

You could go and see a show! I would recommend Wicked (I saw it with my family and it went down a treat!) everyone loved it, its the best musical Ive seen (not cheasy!).

You could go to maddame tussauds! Its really fun to have funny photos with your arm around your fave celeb!

Another top idea would be to fly the eye (the London eye). I've done it and its rather cool, you realise how massive london really is!!!

    Hope I helped xx

  5. spitalfields market is always good.

good on sundays you could have breakfast/coffee and look round the markets.

nice atmosphere and not too many young people around (especially on sundays) so you may not be embarrassed if that's what you're worried about.

  6. Dump her in a club in Soho.
