Any ideas for a first car?

i just recently got my learners permit and my father said he would buy me a car, do you have any ideas of what a nice first car would be. it doesnt matter if the car is automatic or standard. price doesnt really matter. i am a girl so i dont want anything to boy-ish. im not into cars so i dont know much about them, any suggestions would be great.

Your best options are smaller, safer, and not to mention cheaper vehicles.

Most young drivers end up totaling their first car before they finish high school.

My suggestions would be

Honda Civic or Honda Accord

Nissan Versa, Altima or Sentra

Mini cooper(little pricey but great on gas mileage)

Pontiac Sunfire (extremely cheap, well made, good gas mileage, nice first cars)

I personally had a pontiac sunfire as a first car. It got great gas mileage and I only had a couple of very minor maintenance problems with it. I drove that car from the time I was 15 until I got married at 21.

After that I owned a Honda Accord. It was a nicer car but it still got great gas mileage and I had very few problems with it.

Well I want a 2 seat-er convertible. its very girly. I was thinking either the audi tt or the Mercedes 350 slk. But those cars aren't for everyone. it really varies from person to person. I mean, what type do you want? a convertible? SUV? sedan? ummm sry I don't know much about cars. BMW's are nice. My dad has the 750li series and its so comfortable. But then again that's really manly. Um my mom has a escalade. That's sort of uni s*x I guess. But you want something non boyish at all. Umm, all I can think of is like a convertible like I'm getting bc well, that's what I like. sry if I didn't help.
