  1. how about a nice salad with maybe some soft warm bread and pate? maybe a prawn salad or chicken? and hey after looking at other answers, why does everyone think old peeps like fish haha?

  2. grilled cheese with cucumber slices and maybe a side bowl of tomato soup

  3. 32oz T-Bone.

    Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm T-Bone

  4. mash some potato, mix with tuna, make into little balls and fry a tiny bit... serve with peas and asparagus.

  5. i suggest making chicken salad sandwiches. cut the crust off them and slice them in quarters. arrange them nicely on a platter. also serve a fruit salad.using small glass bowls would make this lunch elegant.  they will love how dainty the sandwiches look and how great they taste and then a added flair would be the fruit salad. older people like having younger people fuss over them. this lunch isnt expensive or time consuming. and will please most anyone. young or old.

  6. Without wishing to appear "ageist", it's best to serve something which is easy to eat - by which I mean teeth-wise - so I would suggest something like a nice Cottage or Shepherd's Pie, and to follow, a nice Trifle without large lumps of hard fruit out of a tin in it - so forget the peaches and apricots which tend to slip around inside the mouth and the old teeth have trouble getting a grip on them - go for the soft fruits like strawberries and raspberries. Use those with a jelly to suit over some sponge cakes...dare I suggest the addition of a little sherry...

......and I bet it's years since they had a lunch like that too !

  7. A nice tuna/chicken salad scooped onto some lettuce leaves

with a side of a variety of crackers.

Dessert:  a nice light Waldorf salad or peach parfait in a cup

  8. Proper sunday roast, joint of roast beef or pork cooked till its tender, roast taties, sprouts, carrots, turnip and mash with yorkshire puds and gravy. Luvly jubbly

  9. I agree with all of you who have chosen fish and mashed potatoes with soft vegetables or lamb chops if they don't like fish.

Don't forget the battenburg cake with some tinned fruit cocktail in juice, not syrup & evaporated cream. yum

    A taste from the past.

  10. 12oz steak with chips and peas

  11. salmon, new potatoes, green beans - very light and pleasant!

  12. Quiche and vegetables.  Or Gammon, egg and chips.  Old fashioned stuff is best, meat and two veg type of melas - what about a roast dinner?  Or fish and chips from the chippy?

    Yum! Now i'm starving!!!

  13. baked chicken

    veggies

    boiled potatoes

    bread & butter

    and  a jello with topping.

    good luck laney

  14. Anything that's already been chewed up

  15. oldies like soup, nutricious tasty and not too rich but comforting. You may get some slurps though! Anything traditional but which doesnt take too much chewing eg a nice piece of poached fish with a parsley sauce, carrots and mash

  16. some lovely sandwiches with cheese, ham ,salad ,potato and a couple of grapes and some lovely tasty buns and cakes to finish of with a nice warm cup of tea and maybe a lovely treat like a warm bubble bath to relax them hope u like my idea and u will give me 10 points 4 it love sharpay

  17. You probably want to stay away from onions, garlic, any type of peppers, beans, spicy, etc....   This is a nice salad to serve:

    WIKI WIKI CHICKEN SALAD

    2 c. cubed, cooked chicken

1 c. fresh pineapple chunks (or drained, in juice canned ones)

    1 c. seedless grapes, halved

1/2 c. sliced almonds or macadamia nuts

mayonnaise, salt & pepper to taste;  lettuce leaves to serve it on;  drained mandarin oranges for garnish

Combine chicken, pineapple, grapes, nuts & enough mayonnaise to moisten.  Toss lightly and season to taste.  Serve on lettuce leaves with mandarin oranges to garnish....

An assortment of small cookies (Pepperidge Farm are good), petit fours, chocolate covered strawberries, cream puffs... and maybe a dish of Hagen Daz sorbet (mango would be perfect with this)

  18. to keep it nice and simple, i find fruit cut into small chunks, in a bowl, could add whipped topping if you choose, and have finger sandwiches, maybe a couple of types, like ham & swiss, and turkey with cheddar,  and maybe roast-beef with mozerella. lay out some condiments to compliment, then wrap it up with a nice slice of pie, or some strawberry shortcake, the little round dessert cups work best for small servings. good luck and enjoy

  19. Dover Sole, old Lady's love that fish.
