I say we use the Jed Clampett model. We give everyone a gun and we go out shooting for some food and up from the ground comes a bubblin' crude! So simple it's gotta work, right?

  1. yup, drill here, there and everywhere (beatles)

we have enough petroleum for a few hundred years in the USA, and if the "greenies" would let us recycle nuclear reactor rods, and build more nuclear plants, we'd have neat electric cars in another decade with super new batteries.

  2. Support your own local farmers, CSA's even (community supported agriculture)

Pay less for shipping, and it probably won't kill you, find one locally to join. fresh veggies/fruits/milk/beef/etc w/o wondering where it came from

i totally agree, self sufficient, self supporting,

I DON"T agree that it takes a village , but a village can take care of it's people

    make any sense?

OH OH, and NO NANO technology used to bring forth them thar ripe tomatoes

    yep, that's the ticket
