Any ideas for a person going on a vacation alone?

I'm trying to find a place I can vacation alone, but I'm having a hard time. It seems as though single people are penalized for being single and going it alone. Do you guys have ANY suggestions? Please help! :)

If you are trying to find a places were you can be alone and enjoy your time alone then you should check out Bocas del toro, panama. its really nice down there and not many tourists know about it. its next to the beach and there is a rain forest near by to explore. you should research it if you are interested. If you want to travel and meet people then thats easy just go to all the popular travel city's around the world.

Unfortunately for you , the vast majority of destinations in the Americas or the Carribbean are all based on " double occupancy " in hotels & resorts , and single occupants are charged a suppliment ; that's just how business is done . If you are interested in traveling to Europe , there are plenty of hotels where singles are NOT charged a suppliment . I have just booked a trip to Sicily & the Amalfi Coast of Italy for 2 single ladies staying in separate rooms as singles without a suppliment charge . where ever you go your gonna meet some one the very first day for sure

dont be afraid of going out by yourself!! : )

when you are alone and in a totally different place far away from home is easiest to meet new ppl trust me

go somewhere no one else is going for instance everyone going to Fla you go to north carolina look for bed and breakfast alot of them cater to single travelers when eating out sit at the bar even if you dont drink that way you wont be sticking out
