I want to go out on a little road trip, for about a week. Any ideas would be appreciated.

  1. I have 2 recommendations.  One is the Central Coast of California.  This area is less crowded than much of California's coast.  There's beautiful beaches to enjoy and you can swim in the ocean.  A very romantic resort that I love is Sycamore Mineral Resort just south of San Luis Obispo.  Each room has its own private hot mineral tub on the patio.  It's a real treat!  http://www.cheers2wine.com/sycamore-mine...

My second suggestion is San Diego. San Diego has lots of romantic things to do...its beautiful and they have the most spectacular sunsets.  You can kayak through the caves at La Jolla, ride through Balboa Park in a horse drawn carriage, ride a gondola on Coronado Island, roast marshmallows on the beach, take a tandem biplane ride, or sit and watch the sun set into the ocean as you dine at a romantic restaurant.

    Whatever you do....have fun!

  2. Yosemite.  Kick around the small towns of the Gold Country along hwy 49.  Tahoe.  The high Sierras are nice this time of year and there are a lot of quite secluded places that a couple could enjoy being alone together.

  3. Either Monterey, Carmel, Bodega Bay or Napa are all romantic ideas. They're kinda quiet so it's nice for relaxing.

  4. I would recommend either Monterey, Carmel or Mendocino if you prefer the ocean.  Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe are lovely as well.  If you choose the Napa/Sonoma area, make sure to book a dinner train trip on the Napa Valley Wine Train!
