i just put Bandit down. and the company that cremates him will put an engraving on his urn. something simple.

Bandit was my father in laws dog. we inherited him about 4 yrs ago. Dad had been dead for about 10 days when the police were called to break down the door. even in his starved and dehydrated condition, he tried to protect Dad from the police. they had to snare him before they could get into the house.

Devoted in Life and in Death.

is what i'm thinking.

what do you think?

any other thoughts?

  1. Isis, I read your recent answer to my question about my dog Dom and I'm so sorry to hear about Bandit. I was going to add my own suggestion for a memorial engraving but I can't do any better than your own and Nekai's first suggestion - both have got me very teary. RIP Bandit.

  2. Oh Isis so much going on in your life. Keep your Totem close to the heart.

And just know we are all feeling your pain, all of us.

Tell Rog, I am so sorry.

Bandit is at Peace at Rainbows bridge,,

    To Isis from Bandit,

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.

I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I woofed  to you softly as you brushed away a tear,

    "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care.

I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house as you fumbled for your key.

I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair

I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you every day

To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled; I think you knew...

In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning

And say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,

I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out... then come home to be with me.

  3. I'm very sorry, dear. That sounds like a horrible loss.

    Bandit I love you

    Bandit I do

    You protect our family

    Keep us together like glue

You were very sweet and very kind

I wonder what went on in your mind

You sacrificed - your life and more

And that is why our heart remains sore

  4. Ohhh Isis, I am soooooooo sorry.  Bandit is at peace now; no pains and no aches and is running with all the rest through the fields beyond Rainbow Bridge.

You could write, depending on how much room you have:

    My absolute favorite is:

*If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.

    Some more...

*May you find comfort in the arms on an Angel.

    *When hearts listen, Angels sing.

*Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

*Though you are gone, you will live in my heart forever.

    *Faithful and courageous

*An Angel who earned his wings  :)  ... I think he did.

I'm sorry Isis.  I really am.  R.I.P Bandit.

  5. I'm sorry about your dog, that has to be the hardest thing to do...put an animal down. I had to do that with my cat a few weeks back and Lord is that hard to get over. About your saying for the urn...how about

" Faithful and Loving till the end"

I'm not too good with this but I wanted to try and help you out if I could. Good luck,
