Any ideas for an Old Hollywood Themed Wedding?

Well the FH & I have decided to stray away from completely traditional and have a 30's-40's style themed wedding.. I want it to kind of be upbeat and classy.. any ideas for invitiations, ceremony, reception etc??

Research this time period so you can do it accurately.  Who were the big movie stars?  What were the number one songs? ("In the Mood" is a great one) You can also find out what movies won Best Picture for the Academy Awards and watch some of them for ideas on styles.

Roses and lilys and carnations  are a must , bridesmaids should completely match , even the hair,  keep the cake simple , no gumpaste flowers , use real.   Also if youre going to serve alcohol , do it Rat Pack style!!  Martinis and scotch for everyone.    Instead of a limo rent a vintage car , or borrow a friends. Have a swing/big band perform , or hire a DJ that can play all the music of those eras.  And when you depart for the night , leave in a very sleak 1940's pencil skirted suit with a corsage.  Its the small touches like that , that will make a big fun retro statement.
