  1. See: pictures of autumn leaves, leaves themselves, books about fall

Hear: crunching leaves (you could collect some outdoors with the kids; put them in ziploc bags indoors to hear them crunch)

Taste: Well, not sure this could be part of a display, but apple cider, caramel apples, apples (in general), cinnamon and other spices

Smell: Make little smell jars out of film canisters or plastic salt shakers; put in cinnamon and other spices, pieces of fall leaves,

Touch: Leaves again, bark from trees,

Sorry - for a nature walk I'd have lots of ideas, but a sensory display is a bit more difficult. No wonder you're asking! LOL

  2. All great answers already. You might also try having the children smell the leaves in the sensory table or let them blow them through the air like the wind. Sound of leaves crunching under their feet or when they hold a handful of leaves and squeeze them.

  3. You could do a typical Autumn picture of trees losing their leaves with small animals, like hedgehogs and use natural resources.  So go into the woods and get bark and sticks for the tree, some leaves etc, mix this with painting or colouring.  Also using fabrics and cotton wool for the sky etc.

Hope this gives you some ideas.  The kids would also enjoy going out to get all this stuff.
