I'm writing a book and i'm in need of some character names. Any neat names will do, especially unusual and old fashioned names. I'll take any middle or last names, too. Thanx!

  1. Without knowing anything about your characters it's kind of hard to come up with names but what I can help you with is a place where you find what you're looking for.

The links above are ones that I use when I'm having a hard time figuring out names for characters.  Hope that helps, I know they've helped me.

  2. lydia hannah kinzie harley

    hope it helps

  3. Emmageline Ophilia Knox (female) thats super old fahioned and definitly NOT common! :)

i havev always like Clarity Ann Wheatly, a girl with the nickname Clare

    and Lila Elizabeth Black

    idk for boys....

hope i helped atleast a little bit :)

  4. if i were you i would go on a baby name website, there you can find hundreds of unusual names! :)

  5. i'm copying and pasting this answer from my last answer...i think this might help you too :) let me know what you decide to name your character

(btw, these are just female names. male names are usually general and pretty easy to find, so the male names list could go on and on and on)

    *Sophia (or Sofia)

    *Madeleine

    Clare

    Charlotte

    Lily (or Lilian)

    Vivienne

    *Adair

    *Leighton

*Meave (pronounced Mave, like wave with an M, could also be spelled Maeve)

Elisabeth (always classic, but a bit too ordinary)

    Lucille

    Audrey

    Olivia

    Virginia

    *Cecily

    Catherine

    Victoria

    Blair

    *Scarlett

    Faye

    *Evangeline

    Selena

(starred* ones are my personal favorite and recommended)

Also, for last names, you could do something fancy like:

    Westerveldt

    Bourne-Cecil

    Delancy

    Beauvais

    Sinclair

    Blackwelder

    Worthington

*Kelly (personally, i love this last name. it's very classic and could flow smoothly with any name, i.e. "Adair Kelly")

    Waldorf

    Dorland

    Wallace

    Leicester

The best middle names are usually something simple like :

    Rose

    Elisabeth

    Clare (or Claire)

    Marie

    Anne

  8. Baby name books are a really great resource. They will give you meanings, celebrities with the name, how common they are, just a lot of information that you might want to consider.

There's a lot of websites out there too:

If you are really tring to be a writer you wouldn't be asking advise from a public forum, you'd be looking for ideas  in books and using your imagination.
