My nephew just had a major surgery and I will be spending a week with him when he gets home from the hospital. I want to be prepared to occupy his time. He is interested in science, bugs, experimenting, blowing things up, etc. Pretty much everything 7yr. old boys are into...I need your help!!!!!!

  1. I have a 7 yr old son. They're fun lol

At Walmart in the toy aisle, they have these new science experiment kits...thay have gel ant farms, cool bug catchers, binnochulars, etc...Can he get up and move around??? My son loves to take pictures. I get him a disposable camera or he can use camera on my cell, and he just takes pictures of whatever he wants. They turn out pretty good!

I spy books are time consuming. Coloring books, read to him (The Captain Underpants books are fun)

The new Ninja Turtle movie came out, it's a fave.....

    Have fun!

  2. Board games, video games, videos, the science kit is a great idea. Teach him hoe to play cards, mine could play UNO for hours. books about his interests.  Hope he gets well soon!!

  3. get a bunch of old magazines, any kind will do, but if you have some science mags would be best.  Give him a pair of scissors and have him cut out anything that he likes.  Then, help him put these images together on a piece of fiberboard as a collage'.  It's fun and does not require much money.

  4. Have you looked into "The Dangerous Book for Boys"?  It's a pretty cool book and has tons of stuff on water bombs, forts, bugs...you name it, it's in there.

  5. Some type of cheap science kit would be a great idea.. My son gets different science/experiment kits every now and then when I want to get him something special for under 10 bucks..

Since it's a major surgery he wll probably limited to what he can do.. So bring cars, remote control cars would be fun, and any of his fav. toys.

  6. Corn starch and water. It rocks.

Also try picking up a copy of For Boys Only by marc aronson. It has everything he would like in it. Sports, dangerous animals,cars......
