Question:

Any ideas for my daughter's 6th grade science invention?

We are having such a hard time thinking of something we can invent that meets the requirements. The teacher wants the invention to solve a common problem or annoyance (she gave the example of how she hates drying her hair with a hot hairdryer in the summer). She also wants a model created but only out of common household items. I think the idea is also to try to create something environmentally friendly.

Any ideas you can give will be great.

Thank you all for your help.

  1. Well for my invention I did a peanut butter and jelly sandwich cutter. I took a cutting board, and attached two pieces of metal and a sharper piece of metal and had the sharper piece like an arm that swings down to chop the sandwich in half!! Pretty Stupid but it worked!! Lol

  2. Does it have to be something that works, or can it be an idea that could work? I was thinking a bug spray, that still killed bugs but didn't harm the O-zone, plants, or people. You could take an empty squirt bottle and glue a home made label to it.
