Question:

Any ideas for my generational family scapbook...?

I am going to make a scrapbook tracing up to my greatgreatgreatgreatgreat... grandparents etc. etc. I am adding both pictures and memorobilia including biographies family trees recipes etc. I want to make it clever and fun with popouts & foldables etc. Any ideas on how to decorate it?

  1. I made the same kind of scrapbook for my grandparents.  I think that the best look would be a "Heritage" scrapbook.  You can actually buy black pages instead of white to use - I added a lot of lace, materials, and ribbons for my borders or even backgrounds.  I also used dried flowers and I chalked alot of the backgrounds to really give it an old look.  

    You can also take sandpaper and make your paper look older by roughing it up a bit.

    I used calligraphy pens and made the writing very elegant - looking.

    I had so much fun doing mine and I learned alot about my family.  You can also get books at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or your local craft store that are specifically for the Heritage look.

  2. Do a search on heritage scrapbooking and you should be able to come up with lots of wonderful ideas and techniques!
