  1. I got a thriller for you:

The kids kick a ball over one of their neighbors fences and they go to get it and there's a big shed in the backyard with one of the doors is open a little so they peek in nd its a meth lab and somehow the people find out and so on and so forth...

am i a jeanyus? lol i always thought about this kinda stuff when i was a little kid

  2. 13 year old girl/boy life is going completely wrong. you can make it funny, scary, sad, whatever. 10 and 13 year old are quite different, you know, so that age range isn't the best. the plot i'm going to describe is more likely for 12/13 year old. write about someone who's 'real' - as in, she isn't strong like lots of authors make out, she does give in to peer pressure, she falls anorexic. She falls in love - perhaps with someone she's not meant to - perhaps even a girl? Someone of the same s*x?

Also, you should really make up your own plots, otherwise the reader won't really believe what your writing.

    good luck, B.

  3. depends what type of story you want

I used to like mystery/adventure stories when i was young, something with people my age finding clues and being a nuisance and seeing what adults never see

Otherwise try something more supernatural like time traveling, meeting some strange creatures.....

Or maybe just a normal life thing with someone with low self-esteem in normal life that in the end gains more self-esteem

  4. process of going into puberty and te canges it carries with it.

  5. think about themes relevant to this age group - how they feel about the older/younger kids at school, what they enjoy doing, what inspires them, what makes them laugh.

I don't think it's easy being a kid these days and i think a good story would address they problems they have at this age - feeling threatened by gun/knife crime, gangs and pressure to conform, being offered drugs etc, wanting to be cool vs. feeling like a little kid still, not having a typical family structure anymore - so having unusual father figures in their lives for example, an uncle, godfather or grandfather etc.

You need to feel excited about whatever storyline you come up with or it won't be convincing to anyone else.
