My friends and I are having a pool party celebrating that we just got out of middle school!!! We're going to be freshmen next year and we are having a pool party. We don't really know what to do, we only have a couple ideas so far including swimming(of course since its a POOL party), having a water balloon fight, and playing dance dance revolution. Any other suggestions for having the greatest pool party everr?

  1. well, if you overplan your party, people wont enjoy it. make sure to have LOTS and i mean LOTS of food. many many bags of chips. i think your activities are just fine, ubt having things like inner tubes floating in the pool are also fun. take lots of pictures and have a blast! :)

  2. Food - Simple grill stuff - burgers, hot dogs, etc.  Also, you can make fruit kebabs.  Just cut up watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew and pineapple into chunks and put on sticks.  You can but a ready-made dip if you want also.  People will eat fruit if it's on a stick.

Also, you can make s'mores if you have a grill, or even a small burner on a table.

For entertainment, hula hoop contest, raft races (get some little rafts from the dollar store that don't really fit for more fun).

  3. OMG that sounds like SO much fun! I remember the summer before freshman year, it was the best. For a pool party? DEFINITELY karaoke! And unless you don't mind going to the store and spending money on a karaoke machine and/or CD's, just go online and download some karaoke versions of songs (Limewire is good for that), and then play them REALLY loud on your computer and pick up a fake mic- sounds dumb, but it's FUN. Also, you MUST order PIZZA (which, as we know, is the BEST party food- duh!). Also, because you are WAY under age doesn't mean you can't have *some* fun. Ask your legal guardian if it'd be ok to have virgin drinks there (for instance, Margarita/Pina Colada/Long Island Iced Tea withOUT the alcohol)- serve them just like they would be if there WAS alcohol in it, and enjoy! Get like 3 or 4 disposable Kodak cameras, and give them to your friends to take pictures that day. Then, when the rolls are all finished, have all of the cameras returned to you- and when you get the film developed, you will be able to see ALL the pictures that EVERYONE took that day. Make copies of the photos (if you don't mind paying) and make a photo album for you and your closest friends! Also, it's fun to play trivia games at parties (like "Scene It," etc.). Hope this stuff helps! HAVE FUN!

  4. food, but make sure it is away from the pool

  5. Have a "make your own sundae" station. Get one of those 6foot long sub sandwiches. Have a fashion show of swimsuits. Or summer clothes. Have a dance contest. The pool will actually be the main event...there's nothing like swimming to begin the summer vacation!

  6. Maybe some games like floating basketball or volleyball? Here are some links to get you started.

  7. my friends and i r havn a pool party 2day 4 da same reason. every1 volunteered 2 bring in diff foods and we're gonna bring a boom box 2 danc to. mayb sum1 should bring a beach volleyball or something...

  8. A luau theme party will be fun, check this website for decoration and game ideas http://www.pinatas.com/Luau_Party_Theme_...

  9. have LOADS of yummy food and loud music and play water volleyball!!!!!

  10. I tell everyone this!

    SLIP N SLIDE.

Simple, weight a nice big tarp down on a flat area in your yard. I used bricks, but sometimes we'd slip into them (not fun!). Try to tie it down if you can. Hose the Tarp down, and add some dish soap. Some people wore goggles to keep soap out of their eyes, but just be careful. It's so much fun! Did it for my sweet 16, and everyone loved it! Make sure you hose off well before going in the pool.

We also like games such as twister. We would do it just after the slip n slide for a bit of a challenge!

Games like Apples to Apples, Boulderdash, and Man Laws Woman Rules are great for teen parties! They are great at starting communication. Look around, I got Man Laws for about 10 bucks at Barnes and Noble. Ask your friends if they have any similar games.

Make sure you keep the food simple, and keep it coming. My parties last HOURS. We start around 3, and people leave around 11 or midnight. We have tons of people come, so we keep it simple with pasta salads, chips, snacks, pizza or bbq, and soda. Don't forget water and tea for non-soda people! My parties consist of a pool, a couple games, tons of food, and lots of friends... they're always a hit! The Slip n Slide was a favorite.

  11. Make sure you have music and lots of food!
