Any ideas for what to do on a plane ride?

I'm going on a 4 hour ride to Dallas, then connecting to a 3 hour flight to Florida. And I know I'm going to be mega bored. Does anyone have any ideas for what to do on the ride (it's tomorrow morning)? By the way, I'm pretty easily entertained. Thanks!

  1. books and magazines

    games and puzzles

    ipod

    sudoku and puzzles.

i like to draw on when im on a plane and color.

    Sometimes I just start sketching.

    have fun

  2. -Sleep... it doesnt sound exciting... but if you try to sleep less before your flight so that you can doze off itll make the flight alot easier... you wont be bored and you wont notice the time pass by

-Read... buy some magazines on the way... books are nice but magazines will do a better job of keeping you entertained because they have a lot of diff info

-Puzzles... if you're into crossword puzzles or braintwisters... get a book of those for the plane.

-Write... This is probably my favorite thing to do on the plane.  Just bring paper ad start writing all kinds of things... you have the time to think.  I write letters to people (but alot of the time they're not letters that I plan on sending... I just write down all the things that I would want to say to that person and then throw the letter away.  It's a good way to vent or figure out how you really feel about someone.

I also sometimes write letters kinda to myself... I just write about what I plan to do in life and how I could make myself a better person.

Or sometimes I just pretend I'm writing for an editorial column in a newspaper so I just rant about something random... for example I might write about how uncomfortable plane rides are.

Anyway, I guess you have to be someone who likes to write to get into that... but if you try it I think you'll see that its kinda fun... and it really makes the time go fast if you think of good stuff.

-Bring photos... It's nice sometimes to just have a bunch of old photos or somethign that brings back memories that you can slowly flip through and think about.  It might sound weird but its the kinda thing that you might not find time to do at home.

-You can draw.  This is similar to the writing.  Its just somethign that you might not be that awesome at... but now you have 7 hours to just s***w around and see what you can do.  Just think of random things and see if you can draw them... or if you have trouble thinking of stuff... play the squiggle game with your self: just draw a quick squiggle on the page and then draw around it to see what you can turn it into.

-Lastly... You have to bring music.  Theres a short part of the flight when you can't have an ipod out or anything... but after that I usually have my ipod on the whole flight.  Music always just makes it easier and if you do try the writing or art, listening to music can give you inspiration.

Well there you go... most importantly just relax and don't think about how much time you've been on the flight.  Oh and remember that you can ask for as many drinks and snack packets as you like... so never be afraid to ask for more.  The worst thing is to be on a long flight and be really hungry or thirsty.  (I would even suggest packing a sandwich, grapes, gum, and candy)

  3. *books

*magazines - I buy a bunch of magazines I don't normally read, like celeb gossip and stuff, and they keep me entertained

    *iPod

    *portable DVD player

    *crosswords/Sudoku/word search puzzles

*video games, like a PSP or Nintendo DS

    *computer games

  4. Bring tons of magazine, bring books, bring a pillow and a blanket (you can sleep), bring an ipod if you have one, bring a laptop, with a bunch of computer games (if you have one) bring a portable DVD player, and like 2 movies. I know they sell alot of magazines in airports, so buy all the ones that look interesting (even if you dont normally read them) I hope that helped.
