  1. waivers are NOT authorized.   if you panic at test taking howinhell will you react under fire?!

you can request to take the written, non computerized test.. but the time limits are the same and the questions are just as difficult.

this is something that you and ONLY you can fix.. get over the nervousness.   take a class on test taking..yes they offer them.  take the written version instead.  concentrate on the areas that matter most: Math and Comprehension.

  2. You need to see if there are any classes being offered in your area on test anxiety.  Or go to the library and do some reading up on the subject.  There are no waivers for testing, for anyone, for any reason.

I've worked with young airmen who have had issues with test anxiety and/or reading comprehension.  We just had to work with these young men and women overcome their anxieties and give them tools to work with.  We even managed to find two who had severe dyslexia.  They were allowed to do oral exams for their career level testing, but for stripes..... no way.... everyone tests the same way.

    Some ideas:

Positive test mantra to repeat over and over.

    Breathing exercises

    Meditation/relaxation techniques

Some can be things you do before you go into the room.  Others need to be things you can do in 10-15 seconds to calm yourself and let you regroup.  Also, try to get to the testing center early.  Find a spot in an isolated corner.  Spend a few minutes when you get there doing your relaxation and repeating your POSITIVE mantra.

    Best wishes!!
