  1. really you can't they just keep coming back

  2. The Beatles were English, not Japanese.

Oh, waitaminnit, do you mean "beetles"?     You can pick them off by hand if you only have a few plants.   If you have a lot of plants, that's going to be a tough one - you can try washing them off the plants regularly, or go the old fashioned route and use insecticide (not a good choice for strawberries because of the porous skin).

  3. sevin dust sold at walmart and other place works great

  4. buy a Japanese Beetle trap. They will kill all your beetles and all your neighbors too. They work great. You can buy them at Lowes.

  5. It is ok to use a beetle trap if you can put it far enough away from your house. The trap attracts the beatles and you can end up with more of a problem than when you started. The best way to stop them is to hand pick them off and put them in a closed bag or drop them in a bucket of soapy water. I can't stand to touch them so I came up with my own system. I go out early or late in the day as they are less active and won't fly at me then. I take an old bread wrapper and wrap my hand around the bag about 4" from the top and squeeze until I have a small opening. This makes like a funnel shape with the bigger part of the bag underneath. I put a leaf off of something they are eating in the bottom of the bag then I go through and flick the bugs into the funnel end with any tool and the bug goes through the small hole and is trapped in the bag. The bugs in the bag seldom try to get back out because they stay busy with the food in the bag. When you are done gathering you just tie the bag shut and throw it in the trash.
